Israel declares war

Israel has declared war on Hizbullah in Lebanon. I worry that Israel's current government is a bit weak. They have to go full out and fight the war like in 1967. Israel has the right to defend itself and declare war when attacked:

"I want to make it clear, this morning's events were not a terrorist attack but the action of a sovereign state that attacked Israel for no reason and without provocation," he said.

"The Lebanese government, of which Hizbullah is a member, is trying to undermine regional stability," Olmert said. "Lebanon is responsible and Lebanon will bear the consequences of its actions."

The ministers were briefed on the day's events, and were presented with military options which one government source characterized as "attacking Lebanon, attacking Syria, or attacking both."

Government officials said that Olmert decided to convene the full cabinet, rather than just the security cabinet, to increase the dramatic impact and give himself the widest possible domestic political legitimacy for his actions.

I bet Syria and Iran are behind this. Israel has to respond to these actions as a sovereign nation. An editorial from the Jerusalem Post titled "War and Peace"here.

Defending Israel requires both military and diplomatic action. Hizbullah and Hamas must be dealt direct, heavy blows from which they will not quickly recover. The Israeli operation early Wednesday in which chief Hamas terrorist Muhammad Deif was reportedly wounded in Gaza is an example, and it is clear that the IDF's military pressure on Hamas continues to increase.

In the North, Hizbullah's rocket arsenal, army and terrorist training camps in southern Lebanon should be destroyed to the maximum extent possible, within the constraint of Israel's desire not to reoccupy Lebanese territory over an extended period. We can also expect, given Olmert's remarks, that the IDF will strike targets of importance to the Lebanese, and perhaps the Syrian governments.

It is Israel's responsibility to defend itself by destroying the capabilities of its attackers and imposing sufficient costs at all levels of responsibility. The government must also, however, call on the international community to reinforce, rather than undermine, the deterrent effect of such actions.

I hope they fight the war all out and wipe out as many Hizbullah as possible. And add Hamas with it too! Democracy and the free world depend on it.

7/11 Bombay bombings

The train bombings in Bombay sure have the MO of A-Q.

In Washington, a U.S. official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the events were still unfolding said the coordination of Tuesday's attacks and the targeting of trains at peak travel times match the modus operandi of two Islamic groups active in India during the last several years: Lashkar-e-Tayyaba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. The U.S. government has designated both terrorist organizations and considers them affiliates of al-Qaida. (HT from LGF here.)

It is a tragedy and a year ago we had the same in London. Also today the pictures and Video of the two privates who were brutally slain in Iraq were posted on the internet.  I keep the resolve that this is WAR and this is WHY we have to fight it. If we don't fight them now were they are they will surely come get us where WE are. And thanks to the NYT & LAT the terrorists might get that chance. I pray for the victims and their families. They were everyday people just going home from a day at the job. Just like the WTC folks at the job on a normal September day.

Here is the latest pictures of the bombings in Bombay here.

*****Update: 200 dead, 700 injured.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh highlighted the achievements of this city of 16 million, which staggered back to life despite attacks on the commuter train network Tuesday that killed at least 200 people and wounded more than 700.

"Your resilience and resolve will triumph over the evil designs of the merchants of death and destruction," Singh said in a televised speech. "Let me say again, no one can make India kneel. No one can come in the path of our progress."

We stand with you. We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail. We must join forces to combat the terrorists. Western civilization depends on winning the war on terror. Life as we know it will cease to exist.

Rage on the left

It's been crazy reading all the bloggers posts on one lefty adjunct professor at AZ who wrote threating comments on Protein Wisdom. The woman is deranged. She quit her adjunct position at the university of AZ and will go back to Oregon. She claims she prefers her dear blue state Oregon over the red state of Arizona. Well, 10,000 protesters in Portland did march the streets protesting the War in Iraq. Protein Wisdom got a DOS attack (two I heard) for his trouble. I think if I get any comments that are threating to my life or my families welfare  I'll just delete and banish them to the corn field. Michelle Malkin has the lowdown here.

A-Q from the OC

Well, the goat farmer is on Al-Jezera again. I wonder if Z-man's demise moved Adam Gadahm up the totem pole.  (via    Drudge  here)

LGF has the link to Gadahm's article about converting to Islam here.

Hot Air has his video here.

Blogger does not export!

I find that Blogger does not export your archives. But you can create a backup that can be used to publish. So I'm going to do this tonight after dinner. I have to take the kids to the library to pickup books and do some crafts.
