Define Swiftboating

"Swiftboating: – Exposing the lies, deceit and fraud of self-glorifying public officials or candidates for public office who exaggerate their military service by lying about their feats of heroism and combat wounds."

Joe's got it right

Joe Lieberman's comments about yesterday's derailed terror plot:

"I'm worried that too many people, both in politics and out, don't appreciate the seriousness of the threat to American security and the evil of the enemy that faces us - more evil or as evil as Nazism and probably more dangerous than the Soviet Communists we fought during the long Cold War," Lieberman said.

Then he added, "I'm not saying we shouldn't have healthy disagreement and discussion about national security, but to make it into a partisan political football is just unacceptable and, in my opinion, un-American."

Liberman or Lamont?

Check here to see the nutroots to showing their true colors. I hope Liberman can squeak by. When you support the war of terror you are going for a take down by the liberal left. It is so stupid. The left want power so much that they will trade it for our security. Sad. No more Scoop Jackson's, Zell Miller's, Truman, FDR or JFK. The Democrats are no longer a National Party. Nope. Nada. Nill. Zell is right. "What are we going to do, shoot them with Spit balls?"

Jane at Firedoglake and others are calling Liberman's young volunteers the LiberYouth, as  in the "Hitler Youth" meme. The Antisemitism is so sick on the far left.  Check it out at http://www.firedoglake.com/

Support Israel site

Here is a nifty site showing the flag of Israel with links to groups that support Israel. Please check it out here.

Email it to your friends and help support the war effort in Israel. They need all the help they can get.

One thing that the media is not covering is when a hezbollah rocket lands it causes forest fires. The landscape  northern Israel is dry brush. A group of NYC fire fighters has gone over and volunteered to help Israel's fire fighters. The Israel fire fighters are concentrating on the forest fires in the north. The NYC volunteers are helping throughout Israel in fighting fires filling in for Israel. Great job and thanks to NYFD. They remember 9/11 and the WTC attack. Israel is in the same fight but closer to home. Pray for Israel, Pray for the IDF and Pray for our own solders fighting the terrorists. We are in this together.

Update: Kevin Sites at Yahoo is in the war zone in Northern Israel. Here is his report on fighting the fires caused by the  rockets

Israel appreciates US support

Yoni the Blogger has it right:

An Israeli official has told Fox News that American support for Israel during the Hizbullah terrorist war has been "superb." The unidentified official added that the U.S. and Israel share a common view concerning Syria and Iran. (via IsraelNN.com)

Yoni's comments really make me proud:

G-D Bless America and the President. I have never seen such a great President in my life, not even the great Ronald Reagan, would have backed Israel like George Bush is now.

Rick Moran at Right Wing Nut House says about Bush's support of Israel here:

Perhaps what makes the President’s opponents the most uncomfortable is this uncompromising stance against evil. While it certainly has biblical overtones, it seems to be based more on a faith in something beyond religious conviction – a steadfast belief in the goodness of man. Those whose cynicism towards humanity blinds them to people’s potential to do great and good things as well as savage and terrible things will not ever understand this aspect of the Bush presidency. It goes to Bush’s core beliefs in freedom and the natural rights of man – that all people everywhere are born into liberty.

This belief plays into Bush’s stubborn support of Israel in the face of opposition that perhaps would have cowed a lesser man. He sees Israel much as he sees America.

Read the whole thing. Since 9/11 I have been a stanch supporter of W. He is the Right Man, at the Right Time, fighting the Right War. Bush is Right! (Thanks Right Brothers). When he stood upon  the WTC rubble telling the rescue workers he heard them and he was going after these killers I was so uplifted. We were united in the fight. We are going to war to get these killers. We are in the fight of our existence and the left is so blind it can't see at all. America is  "joined at the hip" with Israel. If Israel is wiped off the map we will be alone. Will America be so united to fight the fight when Israel is gone?

Murtha's at it again

Diana Irey's press release shows how Murtha is really reading his own press releases:

"Does Jack Murtha read his own press releases before they go out?

"Today Jack Murtha put out a press release touting Thomas Ricks' new book, 'Fiasco,' about the conduct of the war in Iraq. Here's the opening line of Jack Murtha's press release:

"I want to bring to your attention a book review that appeared in The New York Times on July 25 that described the book, Fiasco: The American Military Adventure in Iraq, by Thomas E. Ricks. The article affirms what I have been saying about Iraq."

"I saw Mr. Ricks on Sunday morning's 'Meet the Press,' being interviewed by Tim Russert. Perhaps Jack Murtha missed that show -- because if he had, I'm not sure he'd be touting Mr. Ricks today.

"Asked by Mr. Russert at the end of the interview, 'But you do not think American troops should withdraw immediately,' Mr. Ricks replied:

"I think it would be irresponsible, to go in there and to do what we've done and walk away from it. There's a lot of Iraqis out there who have committed their lives to helping the Americans do something there, and to abandon those people would be absolutely shameful ...

We want Bolton confirmed!

The  Senate Foreign Relations Committee is having hearings today about US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton. The US needs a real confirmation from the senate to get him nominated. It would sent a strong message to the World that the US stands with him. Jewish groups support him here by CNS:

Increased support from the Jewish community might make the difference between last year's Senate decision not to confirm John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and this year's debate on the nomination, the head of a Jewish organization told Cybercast News Service.

"I believe almost every Republican will be supporting" Bolton in the Senate, and "you're going to have a surprising number of Democrats supporting him because of his record" of "courage, intelligence and eloquence," said Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA).

Amb. John BoltonBolton is "a man who does what he believes no matter what the consequences are for himself politically, and that's really rare," Klein noted. "This man looks at what's good for our country and what's good to reflect his principles."

Well said. Strong principles are needed in this Global War of Terror.

It's a World War

A-Q's second in charge has claimed today on  Al-Jazeera:

Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader issued a worldwide call Thursday for Muslims to rise up in a holy war against Israel and join the fighting in Lebanon and Gaza until Islam reigns from "Spain to Iraq."

In the message broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, Ayman al-Zawahri, second in command to Osama bin Laden, said that al-Qaida now views "all the world as a battlefield open in front of us."

The Egyptian-born physician said that the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and Palestinian militants would not be ended with "cease-fires or agreements."

"It is a jihad (holy war) for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails ... from Spain to Iraq," al-Zawahri said. "We will attack everywhere." Spain was controlled by Arab Muslims for more than seven centuries until they were driven from power in 1492.

I'm glad Condi and the US see it that way, we are at war with terrorists. Al-Zawahri also said something that chimes in on the Left and their appeasement:

He also called for the "downtrodden" throughout the world, not just Muslims, to join the battle against "tyrannical Western civilization and its leader, America."

"Stand with Muslims in confronting this unprecedented oppression and tyranny. Stand with us as we stand with you against this injustice that was forbidden by God in his book (the Quran)," al-Zawahri said.

Sounds familiar to me. Is he also talking about the MSM, the moonbats and liberal left who hate America too?

Murtha is checking up on Irey

HT to  Michelle Malkin.

Last week, we reported that a private investigator was checking into Washington County Commissioner Diana Irey on behalf of U.S. Rep. John Murtha, whom Irey is challenging in November. A woman visited the county elections office requesting copies of Irey's campaign finance forms in her races for commissioner and information from a state database that would show how often she voted.

While all of these things are matters of public record, Irey cited rumors that the investigation is more widespread and extends to another locale as well. She also charged that the Murtha campaign has previously looked into other opponents' pasts.

A statement from Murtha denied there was anything sinister about the effort to gather information about a candidate from the public record, but added, "especially when that person is not well known."

It is also known that her husband runs a contracting company that is doing business in Iraq.   Ms. Irey has voted since 1986. No big deal. I don't think Murtha can find dirt on her. She's kept her nose clean being the Washington County Commissioner.

Hezbollah has dirty bombs

Hezbollah has five "dirty" bombs to lob at Israel the M16 reports.

(HT  Israpundit)

“The nose cones will contain spent nuclear rods from Iran’s nuclear programme. The rods are wrapped with conventional explosives. The dirty bombs are primarily intended to create increased panic across an already nervous population in northern Israel,” claimed a senior intelligence officer in London.

That's a why Israel has to get rid of Hezbollah. They have a right to defend itself against the terrorists. Hezbollah has WMD and will place it in rockets being lobed at Israel.

Pray for Peace

I pray for peace in the Middle East. But I also pray for Victory so then peace can be achieved. A cease fire would only let Hizbollah rearm itself with Iranian guards and rockets.  The things that Hizbollah are saying also affect the War on Terror. They threaten the US with sleeper cells and suicide bombings!  The dailyKos spews antisemitism crap and I hate it! Wake up guys, 9/11 did happen and it can happen again! (Check out the appeasers who wear jihadiiware  here via Michelle Malkin).

I'm so glad the Israelis are united in their war. I just hope we in the United States can do the same. It makes me feel better knowing our allies are united. I just hope it rubs off on the US!

I could have told Quayle not to go

Dan Quayle Leaves Bush-Bashing Concert

Former Vice President Dan Quayle walked out of a John Mellencamp concert in Nevada this weekend after the performer took a verbal shot at President George W. Bush.

Quayle, who served as vice president from 1989-93 with Bush’s father, President George H.W. Bush, left the concert after Mellencamp dedicated his rendition of "Walking Tall” to "everyone hurt by the policies of the current Bush administration,” according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Quayle immediately left the concert. He later said through a publicist, "Well, I think Mellencamp’s performance was not very good to begin with, and the comment put it over the top.”

Dan Quayle is right. Mellencamp's musical accomplishments were great in the 80's and early nineties but now he's just coasting. I think the only ones hurt from the current administration are the democratic leaders (hurt feelings for not being in power) and the terrorists (who we are being killed and captured). They have a lot in common. Heh.

United with Israel

Atlas has photos, video and audio of todays Pro-Israel rally here. She was pumped up on Rush's this morning. Pajama Media has a great round up of links to the War here.

I've been trying to get to Yoni's here, but no luck. Another great sight is Israellycool here.

Maybe this conflict will unite us again like 9/11 did. But I look at the KOS kids and they want to ignore it all together.  Those who get it want to fight the fight and beat the terrorists  Israel is our ally and friend. Jews and Christians alike are united. We will win this war and eliminate the terrorists. It will be long tough fight but we will stay the course. Our survival depends on it.

It's more than Regional, its Global

Bill Kristol thinks President Bush should drop the G-8 and do a surprize visit to Jerusalem. I would applaud that move. But I really don't think thats going to happen. This regional war in the Middle East is part of a bigger problem, Radical Islamic Fascists. Israel is fighting the same war we are fighting against in Iraq and Afganistain.

The war against radical Islamism is likely to be a long one. Radical Islamism isn't going away anytime soon. But it will make a big difference how strong the state sponsors, harborers, and financiers of radical Islamism are. Thus, our focus should be less on Hamas and Hezbollah, and more on their paymasters and real commanders--Syria and Iran. And our focus should be not only on the regional war in the Middle East, but also on the global struggle against radical Islamism.

Iran is supporting this "Proxy War." It is better for Israel to fight it now then to wait for Iran to develop Nukes to launch stage. We have to be supportive of Israel and fight the global war of Terror. Iran needs to be taken out. We have to be strong and do the job right.

For while Syria and Iran are enemies of Israel, they are also enemies of the United States. We have done a poor job of standing up to them and weakening them. They are now testing us more boldly than one would have thought possible a few years ago. Weakness is provocative. We have been too weak, and have allowed ourselves to be perceived as weak.

The right response is renewed strength--in supporting the governments of Iraq and Afghanistan, in standing with Israel, and in pursuing regime change in Syria and Iran. For that matter, we might consider countering this act of Iranian aggression with a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. Why wait? Does anyone think a nuclear Iran can be contained? That the current regime will negotiate in good faith? It would be easier to act sooner rather than later. Yes, there would be repercussions--and they would be healthy ones, showing a strong America that has rejected further appeasement.

Protecting our values

La Shawn Barber'sLa Shawn Barber's post today exactly nails the immigration problem. Our founding fathers  were concerned about Human rights that are God-given rights.   America is a melting pot where immigrats assimilate into the culture. I see the illegal aliens coming in and they don't assimilate at all. They don't want to become Americans. They just want the civil rights the liberals will give them.  They don't want to learn English. It's hurting the schools. I've moved my children to a school where English is spoken at 70% verses a school where english is spoken only at 35%. I'm all for preserving our country and stopping the illegal from coming in and taking it over. I don't want America becoming a third world nation. We need one set of rules, no double standards. If you want to come here, stand in line and wait your turn. Learn English, and follow our rules.

What makes America unique is e pluribus unum, one made out of many. While America may not have begun with diverse racial and ethnic groups, the founders laid the foundation for a time they had not foreseen. That’s the beauty of it. Guided by the hand of God, they didn’t need to foresee it. All they needed to do was build the foundation on solid, objectively good principles, and yes, Christian values, and the rest fell into place. America wasn’t built on “white values.” It was built on human values, with recognition to God-given rights.

But people opposed to these rights are trying to break the foundation and create something new, something that is doomed to fail. America works because it is America. It will cease to work if it becomes a third world nation and dominated by inferior subcultures. Special interest groups and organizations intent on tearing up the foundation and changing the dominant culture to suit their needs are destroying the country.
